CURRENT TURN AROUND TIME: 3-5 weeks or 21-35 business days as of 04/30/2025. Business days are Monday-Friday and do not include Hawaiʻi state or federal holidays. This is the standard Makaala Hawaiʻi Jewelry processing time and does not include the additional time it takes USPS to handle and deliver your order. 

RETURNS & EXCHANGES: All sales are final. Makaala Hawaiʻi Jewelry does not accept returns or exchanges, so please double check your order before submitting.

CANCELLATION: Orders can be cancelled within 24 hours after the order is placed. Send an email to makaalahawaii731@gmail.com with your name and order number. Makaala Hawaiʻi Jewelry reserves the right to decline (cancel and refund) all future orders from customers who have previously requested any cancellations. 

RESIZING: Resizing is available at an extra fee ($15 per bangle). Bangles can be made smaller, but not larger. Please SIZE UP if you are not 100% sure on the size. The return shipping fee, in addition to the new shipping fee is paid by the customer. The bangles must be shipped back, and you will receive the exact SAME bangles after they are resized. NEW bangles will not be sent. Please reach out to me through email to inquire. REQUESTS MUST BE MADE WITHIN 5 BUSINESS DAYS OF THE ITEM(S) BEING DELIVERED. 

MODIFICATIONS: If you decide you would like to modify your order (change charm, size, or stamped name/phrase) please email makaalahawaii731@gmail.com within 24 hours. After this time frame, modifications are not guaranteed.  

SHIPPING: USPS is the only shipping option offered. Once the customer has received an email with the tracking number and the order is handed off to USPS, Makaala Hawaiʻi Jewelry is no longer responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen parcels. It is in the hands of USPS and all questions regarding the whereabouts should be directed to USPS customer service referencing the tracking number. Please follow up with USPS to file a claim if necessary.

SHELLS CHARTS: You must pick options that are available on the shell charts provided in the pictures. For example, A1 and D5. Please DO NOT state the general terms 'cone shell', 'puka shell' in the notes section of checkout. If no specific shell is stated, returns are not accepted if you do not like the shell that I picked out for the bangle. Only one of each option available. For example, if you pick shell A1 for one of your bangles, it will not be available for your second bangle.  I work extremely hard to provide these charts for optimal customization! 

PAYPAL: If you submit a refund claim through PayPal without contacting Makaala Hawaiʻi Jewelry first, your order will be cancelled and ALL future orders will be refused.

 

WHAT IS THE CURRENT PROCESSING TIME? Processing time (as of 4/30/25) is currently 3-5 weeks after your order is placed. 

WHY IS THE PROCESSING TIME SO LONG? I'm a mom to two littles. Patience and understanding are greatly appreciated. I may need to order materials for your order. As soon my package gets delivered, the process starts to create your beautiful jewelry pieces!

WHY HAS MY TRACKING NOT UPDATED? Shipping labels are generated and printed about 3-5 days prior to dropping off packages. Each order gets prepped and double checked before they are packed up. If you have any questions about the status of the tracking, please email me and I will update you. Sometimes I will drop off packages the day after printing the label but tracking will not be updated for a few days (this is a USPS matter).

CAN I WEAR MY JEWELRY IN THE OCEAN? Yes, you can. However, I personally do not recommend it as there is a possibility the salty elements may reduce the longevity of your pieces. If you do decide to wear them while swimming,  ensure you rinse them off with water and a mild soap to remove salty residue and sunscreen.

HOW CAN I POLISH MY JEWELRY? If you haven't worn a piece in a while, it may have lost its shine. Living in Hawaiʻi, this is unavoidable if you are not consistently wearing your jewelry or do not store them properly. To restore the shine, you can purchase a Sunshine Polish Cloth here. 

WHAT IS THE AVERAGE SIZE FOR ADULT BANGLES? 8-8.5"

WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR SHELLS FROM? I dive for them myself or source them from other local and reliable shell enthusiasts. No live shells are taken. All shells used are found in Hawaiʻi, never imported or purchased from overseas. Believe me, there is a difference between Hawaiian shells and those found elsewhere.
